Shell’s Health-in-Motion Initiative

At the 8th Nigeria International Energy Summit (NIES), held from February 24 to 27, 2025, in Abuja, Shell companies in Nigeria made a significant impact with their high-profile exhibition. The event attracted dignitaries, including the Minister of State for Petroleum Resources (Oil), Senator Heineken Lokpobiri, who expressed appreciation for Shell’s continued confidence in Nigeria’s energy sector.

The exhibition showcased Shell’s diverse business operations in Nigeria, highlighting recent investments by The Shell Petroleum Development Company of Nigeria Limited (SPDC) in gas projects and by Shell Nigeria Exploration and Production Company Limited (SNEPCo) in deep-water oil production.

As part of its Health-in-Motion programme, Shell organized a medical stand at the exhibition, providing healthcare services to hundreds of visitors, including conference attendees and members of the public. A team of doctors, opticians, laboratory scientists, and nurses conducted health checks, tests, and treatments, distributing over 300 medicated glasses and offering eye care treatments to nearly 400 individuals. In recognition of its contributions to the industry, Shell Nigeria received the Best Upstream Company 2024 award at the summit. The company’s active participation underscores its commitment to supporting initiatives that showcase Nigeria’s oil and gas potentials to the world.
