Dangote Petrol Refund
Fuel Price Reduction Nigeria
PMS Overcharge Compensation
Dangote Petroleum Refinery & Petrochemicals has announced a reduction in the ex-depot price of Premium Motor Spirit (PMS) from N890 to N825 per litre. To ensure consumers benefit from this price cut, the refinery will refund customers who were overcharged at its partner stations—Ardova Plc (AP), Heyden, and MRS. Customers are advised to present their receipts to Dangote Refinery for a refund of the excess amount paid.
The refinery has also committed to reimbursing N65 per litre on over 200,000 metric tonnes of PMS previously purchased by marketers at the old rate, absorbing a loss of N16 billion to facilitate this initiative. With the new ex-depot price, Dangote Refinery expects that no Nigerian should pay more than N900 per litre for PMS, regardless of location or petrol station.
This move aligns with President Bola Tinubu’s Renewed Hope Agenda, aiming to stimulate the economy and alleviate the financial burden on Nigerians. The refinery emphasizes that selling PMS above the recommended rates constitutes excessive profiteering, further burdening consumers for personal gain.
