The Nigerian Meteorological Agency (NiMet) has issued a weather forecast warning of thunderstorms and dust haze across Nigeria from Sunday, April 27 to Tuesday, April 29, 2025.
In the North, moderate dust haze is expected over states like Katsina, Sokoto, Zamfara, Borno, Kano, Yobe, and Jigawa. Meanwhile, parts of Taraba and Adamawa may experience early morning thunderstorms, spreading to Kaduna, Bauchi, and Gombe later in the day.
Across the North Central region, including the FCT, Kogi, Nasarawa, Plateau, and Benue, partly cloudy mornings are expected, with isolated thunderstorms in the afternoon and evening hours. Southern states such as Bayelsa, Cross River, Rivers, Akwa Ibom, and Edo are also likely to see morning and afternoon thunderstorms.
NiMet advises Nigerians to take precautions against strong winds and dusty conditions and urges airline operators to obtain updated weather reports for flight planning.
