During the “Accelerating Electric Mobility Adoption in Nigeria by Unlocking Downstream Potential” webinar, the Major Energy Marketers Association of Nigeria (MEMAN) spotlighted the urgent need to scale up electric vehicle (EV) adoption.

Dr. Mukaila Oseni of the NMDPRA highlighted key barriers: inadequate charging infrastructure, intermittent power supply, steep vehicle prices, and limited awareness. He urged leveraging Nigeria’s extensive network of fuel stations and mini-grids as strategic locations for charging infrastructure to drive transition momentum. MEMAN’s CEO, Clement Isong, added that they’ve already established 12 EV charging and battery-swap stations and five after-sales centers across the country, signaling early but promising foundations for a sustainable energy shift.
