Ahead of the 2030 deadline, UN officials and development partners are ramping up support for youth-led solutions that advance the Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs). In Abuja, the UN Resident Coordinator Mohamed Fall urged Nigerian youth—now entering the “last mile” of SDG attainment—to bring their leadership, ideas, and resilience to the table and help shape the nation’s Voluntary National Review process. Strategic forums and consultative platforms are reinforcing this call globally. UNESCO’s BIBO Network culminated its 2024 youth consultations across five regions into policy white papers—highlighting youth-driven innovation and partnerships as vital catalysts to accelerate SDG 17 and other goals.

Similarly, the UN Secretary-General emphasized the critical role of youth in harnessing digital tools for sustainable development, calling for investments in digital literacy and inclusive tech ecosystems to bridge systemic gaps.
