The Lagos State Environmental Protection Agency (LASEPA) has ramped up its enforcement drive against noise pollution, sealing various establishments across Yaba, Ojota, Bariga, Magodo, China Town, Onike, and Ebute Metta and Apapa, Ogudu, Alapere, and Ogudu under a broader crackdown. The operation targeted a wide range of infractions—affecting hotels, bars, bakeries, religious centres, residential units, warehouses, and retail outlets—that repeatedly failed to comply with permissible noise thresholds.

Dr. Babatunde Ajayi, LASEPA’s General Manager, emphasized that noise pollution poses serious public health risks and affirmed the agency’s zero-tolerance policy against violators similar sentiments were echoed in the broader action aimed at safeguarding Lagosians’ well-being. Ajayi urged all businesses and institutions to adhere strictly to environmental standards, warning that compliance is non-negotiable: “We will continue monitoring, and any violator will face closure,” he stated.
