he Oil and Gas Trainers Association of Nigeria (OGTAN) has inaugurated its newly elected National Executive Committee, with Chris O. Osarumwense stepping in as President to steer a transformative agenda. In his inaugural address, he pledged unwavering professionalism, integrity, and accountability, declaring that the team is ready to act decisively . Launching a comprehensive seven‑point strategic roadmap, OGTAN aims to forge international partnerships, secure certification and accreditation authority, standardise curricula with modern technologies, and enhance the value proposition of member trainers.

Further pillars of the agenda include strengthening advocacy through collaboration with the NCDMB, scaling up OGTAN Energy Consult Limited as a revenue-generating arm, and diversifying finances to ensure sustainability. Osarumwense stressed that these initiatives are designed to close the academia–industry gap, raise training quality to international benchmarks, and position the association as a trusted voice in national energy policy. He concluded with a rallying call for full member engagement, affirming that “Together, we will build a more influential, responsive, and prosperous OGTAN”.
