Nigeria’s Weather Forecast: Thunderstorms Expected

The Nigerian Meteorological Agency (NiMet) forecasts thunderstorms nationwide from September 27 to 29, 2024. The agency’s weather outlook indicates that Kebbi will experience morning thunderstorms on Thursday.
Thunderstorms will also impact Ebonyi, Imo, Abia, Ondo, Edo, Cross River, Rivers, Akwa Ibom, and Delta states in the morning. Later, the storms are expected to move into Adamawa, Taraba, Kaduna, Kebbi, Sokoto, and Zamfara.
In the North Central region, thunderstorms are predicted for Niger and Kwara states during the morning, with later storms expected in the Federal Capital Territory (FCT), Kwara, Niger, Plateau, and Benue states.
On Saturday, thunderstorms will continue, especially in Taraba and Adamawa during the morning, while the afternoon and evening will see storms in Katsina, Kebbi, Zamfara, and Sokoto states.
The southern region will also be affected, with thunderstorms anticipated in Ondo, Ogun, Cross River, and Delta states in the morning, progressing to Oyo, Ogun, Edo, Abia, Imo, Ebonyi, Delta, and Cross River states in the afternoon and evening.
NiMet has advised residents to steer clear of flood-prone areas, as strong winds may accompany the thunderstorms. Airline operators are urged to check NiMet weather reports for effective planning.
