On June 2, 2025, the French Embassy in Nigeria announced the disbursement of a €1 million (approximately ₦1.8 billion) grant to 19 civil society organizations (CSOs) across 14 states and the Federal Capital Territory. This initiative, part of the French Embassy Fund for Civil Society Organisations (FEF-OSC), aims to bolster grassroots development by addressing challenges such as gender inequality, economic vulnerability, and community resilience through targeted financial and technical support.
Among the beneficiaries are Against All Odds Foundation (Adamawa), Girl Child Values Support Initiative (Bauchi), RACE Africa (Benue), and Protect the Child Foundation (Kogi). The selection process was competitive, focusing on high-impact projects designed to effect meaningful change in diverse communities. This marks the sixth year of the FEF-OSC program, underscoring France’s ongoing commitment to supporting Nigeria’s civil society sector.
