In observance of Earth Day 2025, Ondo State’s Goodwill Ambassador for Environment, Ms. Olayemi Olapeju, extended condolences to families affected by wildlife attacks globally. At the Elegbeka Farm Settlement in Ose Local Government Area, she highlighted the importance of daily environmental awareness beyond the annual April 22 celebration.

Olapeju launched the “No To Extinction Art For Environment” initiative, distributing solar lights and proceeds from wildlife-themed art sales to local residents. She emphasized that protecting wildlife is intrinsically linked to safeguarding human communities, citing incidents of human-wildlife conflicts in Nigeria and other countries.

A local resident, Mr. James Muhammed, who lost an eye during a hunting incident, expressed gratitude for the support and called for increased government assistance to alleviate the hardships faced by those affected by wildlife encounters.
