Lagos State Government has signed a Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) with Lafarge Africa to enhance solid waste management and promote environmental sustainability. The partnership aims to improve waste collection, recycling, and proper disposal methods, reducing environmental hazards while creating economic opportunities.
Officials highlighted that the initiative aligns with Lagos’ goal of a cleaner and more sustainable environment. Lafarge will integrate waste-derived fuels into its cement production process, supporting a circular economy approach. The collaboration is expected to significantly reduce landfill waste and promote a greener Lagos.
