Green Industrialization
Africa-Europe Cooperation
Sustainable Development
Professor Chukwumerije Okereke has called for a reevaluation of Africa-Europe partnerships to promote green industrialization and sustainable economic growth. He emphasized that Africa must shift from being a raw material exporter to building a strong green manufacturing sector that creates jobs and drives innovation.
Okereke highlighted the need for fair trade policies, increased investment in clean technology, and stronger collaboration to ensure Africa benefits from the global green transition. He also urged European partners to support Africa’s industrialization with technology transfer and financial aid rather than extractive economic models.
As climate challenges and economic inequalities persist, experts stress that redefining Africa-Europe partnerships could unlock new opportunities for sustainable development and industrial transformation.
