The United Nations Development Programme (UNDP) has launched a 120kVA solar mini-grid for the Small and Medium Enterprises Development Agency of Nigeria (SMEDAN) to enhance productivity among MSMEs. The renewable energy project aims to provide reliable, cost-effective power for small businesses, reducing dependence on unstable electricity sources.
Officials highlight that improved energy access will help MSMEs cut operational costs, increase efficiency, and drive economic growth. The solar mini-grid also aligns with Nigeria’s push for sustainable energy solutions and carbon footprint reduction.
With reliable electricity being a key factor in business success, this initiative is expected to empower entrepreneurs, create jobs, and contribute to Nigeria’s economic development.
