The Lagos State Government has sealed a residential property at No. 59, Ajoke Okusanya Street in Okota for illegally discharging raw sewage from its septic tank into public drains. The Lagos State Wastewater Management Office (LSWMO), under the Ministry of Environment and Water Resources, acted following surveillance and confirmed reports of untreated effluent being pumped out and contaminating nearby public drainage systems.
Commissioner Tokunbo Wahab described the act as a clear breach of environmental regulations, posing serious threats to public health and safety. The government reiterated its zero-tolerance stance on such violations, encouraging residents to report offenders, and promising sustained enforcement to ensure a clean, safe, and healthy environment in Lagos State.
