In response to circulating “fake information” and perceptions of regional neglect, Information Minister Mohammed Idris reaffirmed on September 1, 2025, that President Bola Ahmed Tinubu’s administration prioritizes fairness, justice, and equity in managing federal projects, appointments, and opportunities across Nigeria’s six geopolitical zones. He emphasized that major infrastructure initiatives—ranging from coastal highways to light rail projects—are being implemented nationwide, driven by an ethos of inclusive development. For example, rail funding includes ₦150 billion for Kano and ₦100 billion for Kaduna, while metroline developments are underway in both Lagos and Ogun states, with an expected creation of over 250,000 jobs.

Idris shared verifiable project allocation data: the Northwest leads with ₦5.97 trillion (over 40% of total approvals), followed by South-South (₦2.41 trillion), North-Central (₦1.13 trillion), South-West excluding Lagos (₦604 billion), South-East (₦407 billion), and North-East (₦400 billion). He also highlighted strategic appointments based on competence and geographical balance—not sectional loyalty—alongside the establishment of five Regional Development Commissions and a new Federal Ministry of Livestock Development under the Renewed Hope Agenda. These steps, he noted, reinforce Tinubu’s inclusive vision: “President Tinubu is building national infrastructure, not local trophies… no part of this country will be left behind.”
