Following the devastating floods in May that obliterated Mokwa Bridge in Niger State, President Bola Tinubu has swiftly approved ₦16.7 billion for its immediate reconstruction. The announcement was made on August 16, 2025, in Abakaliki by Information and National Orientation Minister Mohammed Idris during a joint briefing with Works Minister Dave Umahi, emphasizing the administration’s responsiveness to urgent infrastructure needs. The bridge, which originally spanned 10 sections, is poised for rapid restoration to reconnect affected communities and revive regional mobility. In a broader infrastructure push, Tinubu also greenlit several other critical projects across Nigeria—including rehabilitations in Taraba (Wukari bridge), Kogi (Lokoja Bridge), Ebonyi to Imo/Abia (Afikpo road), Kwara (Jebba Bridge), and multiple sites in Edo, Kebbi, and other states.
