The International Climate Change Development Initiative (ICCDI) organized a two-day training workshop titled “Media for Climate Justice” in Lagos on July 2–3, 2025. Aimed at cub journalists, activists, and community leaders, the event emphasized the critical intersection of climate change and social equity, especially in vulnerable communities. ICCDI Executive Director Olumide Idowu highlighted that media professionals must amplify grassroots perspectives and ensure coverage reflects the real impacts experienced by those least responsible for climate disruption.

Expert speakers provided strategic guidance on factual and emotion-driven storytelling. Sulaimon Arigbabu advised prioritizing scientific consensus, local voices, and accountability-focused narratives. David Lanre Messan introduced the P.A.C.E. framework—Problem, Action, Consequence, Envision—to craft stories that resonate and spur action. Additional sessions by Khadija M‑Williams and Mayowa Adebote explored the role of media in climate advocacy and leveraging digital tools for activism. The workshop equipped participants with essential skills to produce media content that drives policy change, fosters public engagement, and supports the climate justice movement in Nigeria.
