The Lagos State Government has reiterated its zero-tolerance stance on environmental infractions, particularly in anticipation of increased waste generation during the upcoming Sallah festivities. Commissioner for Environment and Water Resources, Mr. Tokunbo Wahab, emphasized that residents must adhere strictly to environmental laws, including proper waste disposal through approved Private Sector Participation (PSP) operators. He warned against illegal dumping, open defecation, and street trading, stating that violators will face prosecution. The government has mobilized enforcement teams from the Ministry of Environment, Kick Against Indiscipline (KAI), and the Lagos Waste Management Authority (LAWMA) to ensure compliance across the state.
