The Lagos State Government has identified 39 buildings in the Eti-Osa Local Government Area for demolition due to encroachment on the Right of Way (RoW) of the Ikota River. Commissioner for Environment and Water Resources, Mr. Tokunbo Wahab, announced this action following a drainage enforcement inspection on May 8, 2025. The affected properties are located in Oral Extension Estate and Westend, Megamound Estate in the Lekki axis. Of these, 18 buildings are slated for total demolition, eight for partial removal, and 13 for complete demolition. Occupants have been issued indefinite quit notices to vacate the premises.
