In a major relief effort, the Nigerian Red Cross Society, in partnership with the European Union and IFRC, supported over 1,100 flood-affected households in Anambra State.
Between December 14 and 16, 2024, families in Ogbaru, Anambra West, and Ayamelum LGAs received customized ATM cards preloaded with ₦77,000 and essential items like buckets, gallons, and Aqua tablets.
The aid was part of a €1.1 million EU humanitarian response for flood victims in Nigeria. Red Cross officials emphasized that the support was non-political and reached even remote communities. Beneficiaries expressed gratitude, noting the assistance will help them recover and rebuild.
