– Giant panda conservation in China
– Dujiangyan panda research center
– Sichuan panda population protection
China is intensifying its giant panda conservation initiatives through the China Conservation and Research Centre for the Giant Panda (CCRCGP) in Dujiangyan. This facility focuses on disease prevention, research, rescue, rehabilitation, and public education.
Beyond safeguarding pandas, the center has generated over 120 local jobs, including roles such as gardeners, interpreters, and researchers. Sichuan Province, home to approximately 1,040 wild and 500 captive pandas, sees over 50% of these at the Dujiangyan base. These efforts highlight China’s dedication to preserving its national treasure and promoting ecological balance.
