The United Nations and African Union are strengthening efforts to align the UN’s Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs) with Africa’s Agenda 2063 through the “Two Agendas, One Framework” initiative.

This approach seeks to streamline national implementation by integrating global and continental development priorities.AU Commission’s Botho Bayendi stressed the need for deeper collaboration, while UNECA’s Said Adejumobi noted an 80% convergence between both agendas, highlighting the value of joint execution.

The UN will leverage its Resident Coordinators to support national implementation of the Second Ten-Year Plan.The alignment strategy was discussed at the 11th Africa Regional Forum on Sustainable Development in Addis Ababa.
