The Hydrocarbon Pollution Remediation Project (HYPREP) has committed to solving Ogoniland’s pressing water challenges. The agency assured that it will implement sustainable water projects to ensure clean water access for affected communities in Rivers State.
HYPREP Coordinator, Prof. Nenibarini Zabbey, made the commitment during a stakeholders’ meeting, where he emphasized that addressing water contamination caused by years of oil pollution is a top priority. He stated that collaboration with local and international partners will be key in delivering safe drinking water and supporting the health and livelihoods of Ogoni people.
