The Corporate Accountability and Public Participation Africa (CAPPA) has applauded the Lagos State Government for completing the Adiyan II Waterworks project, which is expected to enhance access to potable water for millions of residents.

CAPPA’s Executive Director, Akinbode Oluwafemi, praised the project as a step toward improving public water infrastructure but urged the government to allocate more funding to public water systems instead of exploring privatization options.

He emphasized that consistent investment in public water services is crucial to ensuring equitable access, especially for underserved communities. CAPPA also called for transparent management and long-term maintenance of the facility to sustain water delivery and public health benefits.
