Advancements in Solar Technology Education
Asteven Energy Institute recently celebrated the graduation of 23 trainees enrolled in the Council for the Regulation of Engineering in Nigeria (COREN) Solar Photovoltaic Installation (SPVI) course. These individuals are preparing to undertake the COREN SPVI examination to become certified Solar PV installers under Nigeria’s Clean Energy Certification Scheme.

Dr. Sunny Akpoyibo, Chairman of the Governing Council at Asteven Energy Institute, emphasized the importance of this six-week training program in bridging the skill gap within Nigeria’s renewable energy sector. He highlighted the institute’s role in partnering with various institutions and government bodies to enhance job opportunities and promote a transition from fossil fuels to green energy
Dr. Magnus Onuoha, Rector of the institute, noted that the training focuses on emission reduction processes. He mentioned plans to assist the Ogun State Government in entering the carbon market to earn carbon credits, reflecting the institute’s commitment to both economic and environmental sustainability.
