Call for Harmonized Policies Across African Nations
Emphasis on Strategic Partnerships and Capacity Building
Leveraging AfCFTA for Continental Industrialization
The Nigerian Content Development and Monitoring Board (NCDMB) has called for the establishment of a comprehensive local content framework across Africa to harmonize policies and foster cross-border partnerships. Speaking at the 2025 Nigeria International Energy Summit (NIES) in Abuja, Executive Secretary Mr. Felix Ogbe emphasized the potential of the African Continental Free Trade Area (AfCFTA) to position local content as a catalyst for continental industrialization.
He stated, “Unlocking Africa’s potential through local content requires unwavering commitment to capacity building, policy refinement, and strategic partnerships.” Ogbe highlighted NCDMB’s dedication to collaborating with African counterparts to share best practices, co-develop industrial hubs, and create synergies that benefit the broader energy landscape. He also underscored the importance of initiatives like the Nigerian Content Intervention Fund (NCIF) and Human Capacity Development (HCD) programs in empowering indigenous businesses and talent within Nigeria’s oil and gas industry.
