Chevron Nigeria restated its dedication to achieving a global net-zero future through continuous investment in reducing carbon intensity and expanding lower-carbon businesses. The company’s commitment was highlighted at the 23rd S.L. Edu Memorial Lecture in Lagos, honoring the late Chief S.L. Edu, founder of the Nigerian Conservation Foundation (NCF).

Jim Swartz, Chairman and Managing Director of Chevron Nigeria, reiterated the company’s vision to provide affordable, reliable, and cleaner energy that supports human progress and nature conservation. Represented by Olusoga Oduselu, General Manager for Policy, Government, and Public Affairs, Swartz commended guest speaker Prof. Yemi Osinbajo’s call for collaboration to achieve Africa’s sustainable future.

Chevron Nigeria continues its partnership with NCF, contributing to impactful projects such as the Lekki Conservation Centre, which serves as both a sanctuary for endangered species and a valuable carbon sink. Swartz reaffirmed Chevron’s ongoing support for environmental conservation and its commitment to upholding the principles of the Paris Agreement on climate change.
