Olawande: FG Will Implement Recommendations for Youth Empowerment

Minister of Youth Development, Ayodele Olawande, has reaffirmed the Nigerian government’s commitment to creating a conducive environment for youths to thrive and reach their full potential. At the valedictory sitting of the fifth session of the Nigerian Youth Parliament (NYP) on Wednesday, Olawande emphasized the ministry’s dedication to expanding opportunities for youth empowerment, skill development, and supporting youth-led initiatives across the country.
The Minister encouraged collaboration among stakeholders to build a Nigeria where young people can pursue their dreams without barriers related to social, ethnic, or religious backgrounds. He also highlighted the NYP’s role in producing 436 youths with valuable legislative skills and decision-making expertise since its establishment in 2008.
Olawande assured that the ministry would implement the parliament’s recommendations to improve the lives of Nigerian youths and support the President’s commitment to 30% youth and women representation in governance.
Speaker of the fifth session, Azeezat Yishawu, praised the parliament’s efforts in promoting youth participation and advocating for inclusive policies. She urged fellow parliament members to continue advocating for youth rights and involvement in governance.
